Frequently Asked Questions
Do you offer telehealth?
Yes, we offer telehealth (if it works for the client). Telehealth is effective for some clients but not for others. For some the convenience and comfort of being in their own space can enhance the therapeutic process, while for others the screen can be a barrier and impede the trust-building necessary to engage.
Do you take insurance?
We don’t take insurance, but here’s how it works: Some insurance plans provide out-of-network benefits that will allow for all or partial reimbursement. We provide customers with the documentation needed to support this process. We also meet with customers for free to walk you through how to fill out the claim paperwork to file for reimbursement.
Do you charge for your time outside of sessions?
Our fee includes collateral communication between sessions with clients, parents, schools, and providers. This level of collaboration and accessibility is an integral part of our approach. We value the opportunity to speak with caring parents, partner with schools, and share information with other providers. Most importantly, we encourage clients to reach out to us directly in times of need. Often, the critical work happens between sessions.
What does the intake process generally look like?
We believe that finding the right therapeutic fit is essential for successful outcomes. To see if we are the right fit, we focus on connection and never charge for the intake process. Our intention is to make sure you and your child feel comfortable and confident. We start by meeting with parents — either in person, at our office, over the phone, or through a video call — to learn more about your child’s needs and goals.
If it feels like a good fit, we’ll invite you and your child to an in-office intake appointment. From here, we focus on forming a connection with your child. The goal is to get to know each other and provide a sense of what a typical session looks like. Afterward, we’ll reconnect with parents to discuss how the session went, answer any questions, and map out next steps, including scheduling future appointments.
